CJ, you should contact an attorney who specializes in oil and gas issues. The FracTracker Alliance can’t recommend any to you, but you can find a list of them at the Penn State Extension website.

There are no wells in the area I know of, the farmers including my cousin who use to use well water no longer can due to contamination to them. I have been told that the gas has already been extracted even without my concent. Who should I turn to and how do I find out?

It’s possible, thanks to our Virginia state government officials, to condemn and seize private property for corporate profits, which includes constructing a fracking pipeline and compression stations (to compress natural gas to liquid gas for transport) in order to sell U.S. produced gas to the highest foreign bidder.

While I have no knowledge of “fracking” in GA, pipelines are being proposed. You can find information regarding permitting and applications through the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Gas pipelines will only increase the amount of extreme extraction occurring in other areas, and stall the creation of new, localized, sustainable energy sources. Furthermore- pipelines cannot exist without VOC and other toxic emitting compressor stations approximately every 40 miles.

There are numerous gas and oil wells in Southwest Georgia near Cairo and Bainbridge with more new wells popping up weekly
