New developments are beginning all around the state, which, when counting the new developments, means Colorado will have more than 53,683 active wells (not to mention the 40,000 inactive wells). It’s not that everyone wants to outright ban fracking, rather they want to keep these sites and wells away from their homes, schools, and businesses. Communities are working on a ballot initiative to keep the oil and gas processes 2,500ft away from people, and give their neighborhoods more power over the activity in their limits. […]
