Mon, 29 Jul 2013 16:08:37 +0000https://www.fractracker.org/?page_id=4558#comment-28182The data utilized in the “Ohio Shale Gas Viewer” draws on the state’s monthly Excel spreadsheet update (http://oilandgas.ohiodnr.gov/shale#SHALE) combined with the Risk Based Data Management (RBDMS) Microsoft Access inventory (http://oilandgas.ohiodnr.gov/well-information/oil-gas-well-database). The laterals were constructed in ArcMap utilizing a feature in ArcToolbox’s Data Management Tools (http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#//001700000002000000). Within this is an option called “Features” which allows for the conversion of the Utica Shale drilling and lateral endpoints into individual laterals using “XY To Line”. The Class II data is derived from the ODNR UIC program’s current inventory of 240+ “Active” Class II wells with hydraulic fracturing waste accepted by quarter back to 2010 for 180-85 of the wells.
